Although earlier in the season than normal this years Liam Ball Triathlon had better weather than previous years which made for faster times. This year again the race was part of the National Series which is testament to the hard work of the organisers and more or equally important the volunteers who marshal the race. This year the Liam Ball is the first of two triathlon to be held in Derry, later in June (23rd June) the inaugural Firmus Energy City of Culture Triathlon will take place. As a result of this, the Liam Ball Triathlon has seen an increased numbers of first timers taking part this year. In fact the complete 1st wave is all first timers.
